Two new album recommendations for your weekend listening pleasure. Both of them dropped today, and both of them are reminding me that I’m old.

  1. Addison, by Addison Rae. I spend basically zero time on TikTok so am oblivious to the origin story, but on first (and second, and third) listen this is some of the best pop that I’ve heard in years. I haven’t had the “whoa, this feels new” feeling this album tingles since Folklore.
  2. Anthems: A Celebration of Broken Social Scene’s You Forgot It In People features covers of the originals by Toro y Moi, The Weather Station, Hovvdy, Maggie Rogers + Sylvan Esso, Middle Kids, and more. If you’re of a certain age this will push your nostalgia buttons while sounding fresh as hell.

Jam in your earbuds and get outside – these will make you feel better about the world, at least for a bit.
